Turning catalog data into an asset
Beyond printing, Sakudo needed to use catalog data as a reusable asset. Product databases and pages had to link bidirectionally for XML-based one-source, multi-use workflows.

XML automated layout with ProDIX and ProXCreator
Core data is imported as CSV, stored in a database, converted to XML by ProXCreator and composed in InDesign with ProDIX. Edited layout data can then return to the database.

Preparing for web catalog expansion
The workflow is expected to improve price-change and revision work in future years and support services beyond print, including XML-based web catalogs.
